Hearing Aid Batteries

and Repairs

Concerned your hearing aid is not working as well as it should be? We can help.

Hearing aids are very effective at helping you hear better, but only if they are working well. If your hearing aid is not working, or not working as well as it was, bring it in and we can have a look at it.

One of the most common issues that stops a hearing aid working properly is wax blocking the wax filter. While you would have been supplied with spares of these when you were fitted with your hearing aid, if you have any trouble changing it or can’t remember how to change it, come in and see us. We can not only change it for you we can show you how to do it for next time.

Spare Parts

Wax filters are only one part on your hearing aid that you might be able to change. For example, there may be other types of filters or domes that you can change. When your initial supply of these items runs low, contact us to obtain more of the correct part. We keep the commonly used parts in stock so we can supply them to you. And as with wax filters, if you have any difficulty changing the parts, please contact us so we can help.

In Office Repairs

There are also several other parts on hearing aids that can be changed in our office as required. This might include tubing, domes, or receivers. This means we can often fix a hearing aid on site without needing to send it off. We keep spares of these parts in our office as we know if we can fix it for you without sending it off it means less downtime for you and a faster return to better hearing.

Manufacturer Repairs

If your hearing aid is unable to be fixed in our office, we can arrange to send it off to the manufacturer. We deal with all the manufacturers so we can arrange repair for you regardless of which brand it is and whether you purchased it through us. This will involve you being without your hearing aid temporarily while it is repaired. If you need a loan hearing aid during this time, please let us know. If your hearing aid is not covered by warranty or is not covered under a maintenance agreement through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program, then costs will apply to having it repaired. If you would like to know the cost up front just ask us – lots of the manufacturers have set costs for repairs. If they don’t, then we can ask for a quote if needed.

Batteries

If your hearing aid uses disposable batteries, you will need to obtain replacement batteries when your initial supply runs low. It is important that the batteries you use in your hearing aids are the correct size as well as being batteries that are specifically for hearing aids. Hearing aid batteries use a specific technology, and it is important not to use other types of batteries in your hearing aids even if they fit. By getting your hearing aid batteries through us we can ensure that you have the correct size and type for battery for your hearing aid.
